This is what happens in an intercultural exchange. This is our project. This is Youth Preventing Violent Extremism.
Youth PVE is a joint UNESCO/UNOCT project (with the financial support of Canada) coordinated by CCIVS and hosted by the Moroccan organisations ACC, UNCV and Chamss. Together with local and International volunteers, a group of young participants from Morocco, Tunisia, Jordan and Libya took part in July 2018 in World Heritage Volunteers action camps in Rabat and Meknes. They were engaged in manual and awareness raising activities in UNESCO world heritage sites and had the chance to discover the local culture and the backgrounds of the other participants from France, New Caledonia, Australia and China.
Here is the list of the action camps:
1) 5 - 22 July 2018: WHV - Encouraging young people to respect heritage (hosted by UNCV in Salè)
2) 6- 20 July 2018: WHV - A heritage accessible to everyone (hosted by ACC in Salè)
3) 14- 28 July 2018: WHV - La Découverte de Qara (hosted by UNCV in Meknes)
Two CCIVS trainers facilitated non-formal education activities aimed at "building the group" and creating future initiatives targeted to young people, in order to promote a culture of dialogue and peace. In this page you can find more information about the participants, their organisations and their future initiatives generatad by this project. Please consult the "Contact & Links" section in this webiste to know more about all the partners involved in this initiative and to find out more opportunities for volunteering in Morocco and in the rest of the world.
