Mauro - Italy (trainer)
My profileWhen CCIVS proposed me to support the coordination of the Youth PVE project I couldn't say no. In 2016 and 2017 I had worked in the CCIVS office in Paris and, among many tasks, I was also responsible for the coordination of the WHV initiative. I read hundreds of evaluation forms, action camp descriptions and reports, and I felt in love with the concept. My dream was to visit each and every action camp in the world, from Mexico to Jamaica, from Togo to South Korea. So why not starting from Morocco? The experience was intense and enriching, but I would lie if I said that it was easy! I cannot speak Arabic and still I have to learn a lot about the Arab Countries, nevertheless the project was succesful and I had the chance to improve my skills and enlarge my horizons.
I was born in Sassari (Sardinia island), a city that hosts the "Descent of the Candlestick". In 2013 this event was recognized by UNESCO as a world intangible cultural heritage. |
My organisationsRegarding my previous (and current) experience, I was "raised" by SCI (Service Civil International), an NGO focused on peace work and international projects (mainly workcamps) around the world. After studying Education Science in Italy and European Studies in Vienna, I coordinated for SCI several workcamps, training courses, seminars and meetings in Australia, Switzerland, Germany, Ukraine, Greece, Italy, Belgium and France.

From October 2016 to September 2017 I worked as Programme Manager at CCIVS office in Paris. During that period, I had the chance to coordinate projects in France, Hungary, Morocco and Uganda.
